I got bored for a huge chunk of the middle of this book, then it for better.

Lincoln Rhyme, being out of his jurisdiction of NYC, is distinctly at a disadvantage. However, that does not stop him from using his full talent as a, as Rhyme would say, "Forensic Criminologist".

My original feeling was that this book would get no more than two stars. The early stages were choppy and disconnected with much of it having a very contrived feeling. It improved after the midway point and actually became quite enjoyable for the final third. Where the first two books from this series were excellent, the early stages of this entry had me considering abandoning the series. With the improvement in the final third of the book, however, I have decided to continue with the series a bit longer.
