Thought it was pretty darn extreme way to make your detective stand out but ended up being intrigued and read the whole series. One after another. And then what usually happens when I do this happened. Which is to day I am sick to the death of the series. Not sure why I do this. Put it down to complete lack of self control. Was not enthralled with the main relationship but the actual solving of the cases was nearly always well done.

So far, my favorite in the series. Lots of twists, right up to the end.

Not the strongest in the series so far, this book has the team heading to North Carolina. I feel that some of the hillbilly stereo-type was overdone and while I applaud the premise of it, I'm not sure I really buy the blooming romance between Sachs and Rhymes.

I wondered about the 416 pages when I started, but nothing is what it seems to be. Well researched. Twist upon twist.

I've read a lot of the Lincoln Rhyme series, and I really enjoyed them all, but this one was perhaps my favorite. I never could have guessed how this one was going to turn out, even when I was very close to the end. Jeffery Deaver seems to love plot twists, and this one was as twisty as they come.

If you like suspenseful books, you should try some of these. They go fast, and sometimes that's a good thing.

It had some good scenes, but it just didn't manage to keep me interested the entire time.

These books are like Michael Bay movies for people who read; they're fun, they go fast, and you might remember a few things about them in a year, but not too much.
