i like this series and i want to continue reading it. this book made me laugh out loud at some points and i really enjoy the good world building that some fantasy/dystopian books fail to do. my only downside to this book series is that the women are sometimes written about poorly. i love the female characters (especially freya and hester, i hope they get along soon !), but the way the male characters interact with them sometimes is just …. outdated. i’m taking it lightly though as i’m pretty sure this is an early 2000s series and written by a man. some things you just have to look past for a good fantasy series.

i also like how the book is formatted. the rotating povs really draw you in and i love seeing new characters who have had different experiences of this post-war world !

why did she get pregnant at the end you can tell this is written by a man
