One of those thrillers you simply don't want to put down, hence why I have just finished it at 1:40am! I guessed the killer just over half way through but not the motive till 3/4 in. A brilliant holiday read.

I really liked this book. It took a second to finish, but it was extremely entertaining and interesting. I like the concept of a unreliable narrator. The movie adaptation is kinda bad so I would not recommend it; the book is definitely better.

Rachel, recently divorced and suffering from alcohol addiction, rides the train every day and watches the houses along the track. One of these houses belong to her ex-husband, Tom, and his new wife, Anna (whom he cheated on Rachel with). Rachel begins to notice a couple a few houses down from Tom. She names them Jess and Jason, and imagines their perfect life. When Jess (actually Megan) goes missing, Rachel is determined to help in the investigation.

Had no empathy for the main character, she just annoyed me and I wanted to give her a slap and tell her to pull herself together.
