This book was something of a mixed bag for me... I really enjoyed Zofia as a character, she is so well-drawn and very fun to read about. However, the mystery itself did not really grab me... I won't spoil anything but it left me unsatisfied. Really, I liked everything except the main mystery--which is difficult for a mystery novel. I understand this is the first in a series, so I would believe the books pick up.
Lost interest and a bit lost the plot at 2/3 mark. Otherwise, decent characters, great vocab and nice historical world building.
This was fun! I was delighted when I discovered that the same audiobook voice actress also read Gideon the Ninth, which meant that the annoying haughty ladies (mainly Zofia) had the same voice as Harrow
I'm very much a fan of what this book was going for; unfortunately, I don't think it got there.

This book was okay read but I didn't love it and the cover of book was stunning. Both the writing and the paced of plot was okay. The atmosphere was well write and the world building was pretty great also the the ending of the book was okay. The characters was fine but I would have like them flash out bit more
