Easiest 5 stars ever! This is the best.
Carl is just trying to save his ex-girlfriend’s cat from a tree when the unthinkable happens. The world ends and he needs to fight his way through the levels of a dungeon with Princess Donut (the cat).
It sounds crazy, and it is, but it’s so good. It was such an action packed ride, that included a lot of video game aspects. Think bosses, inventory and skill levelling. As well as the possibility of being taken out by other humans who are also fighting for their lives. All while being watched by billions of spectators.
I listened to the audiobook while reading along with the physical copy, and it was such an amazing experience. The different voices of the narrator is mind blowing.
I really can’t wait to jump into book 2.

Like nothing else I’ve ever read. Fast-paced, totally unhinged, vivid descriptions. I’m not even sure if I like the characters, but I couldn’t put it down and grabbed book 2 as soon as I could.
Fantastic narration! Really fun world building! Quirky as hell! Overuse of exclamation points in review needed!
