Predictable plot but that’s because everything that’s set up you know is going to pay off bc the writing is just that crazy good.
Loved the setting descriptions.
Hated the treatment of the women characters but it’s of it’s time as they say.
Good for understanding that the lack of support for mentally disabled people can have consequences that are so easily avoided.
Didn’t cry like I was told I would but I can see why this is a punch in the guy for a lot of men.

Glad I don’t have to write an essay on this book.

This doesn’t get 5 stars because I was pretty upset at the treatment of the one female character. Also because that ending caused me EMOTIONAL DAMAGE

Blatant symbolism makes the reader able to discern exactly what is going to happen and what means what from the get-go. There is no surprise or character development, just the descent into the inevitable.
