C’est le deuxième livre que je lis de l’autrice et c’est encore une fois une bonne découverte ! Elle me confirme l’idée que j’aime beaucoup les thriller young adult

Incredibly boring. I was reading with my mom and could only make it to chapter 5 of pure torture. Everything was so drawn out, it was frustrating. By chapter 5 I feel like I should have enjoyed the characters somewhat. I should have cared about them a little, no? How has nothing been revealed about any of them? I understand this is supposed to be a mystery novel, but you need to give the reader something in order to build a bit of intrigue - as it stands I could not finish it, and I have no desire to finish it either. Currently, I would rather do absolutely anything other than have to learn more about the Storys.

Ay, this is a twisty one!

This might be my second favorite Karen M. McManus after One of Us Is Lying! I definitely can't remember Two Can Keep a Secret very well and I do remember One of Us Is Next in that I remember how damn boring it is.

So it was a bit refreshing to enjoy the characters and twists almost as much as I enjoyed those in One of Us Is Lying! I thought the story setup was a good setup for a murder mystery along the lines of Clue or Knives Out, so I was glad to find that this is not a murder mystery!

The ongoing game of, "That person ain't who you think they is!" was particularly fun and made for some truly gasp-worthy reveals.

Unfortunately, where this lost points was the impact of those twists and reveals after I had a moment to chew on them for a moment. It was still really fun, but ultimately it didn't feel like those twists were as game-changing or impactful as similar twists were in One of Us Is Lying.

That all said, this was extremely fun and was absolutely a step up from McManus's last two works. Good stuff!
