Long book, but extremely worthwhile. With great character exploration and heavy dialogue, I found it much more enjoyable to read than most classics.

Also provocative, with insights into class issues in Russian at the time and some philosophical commentary. Explores the interests of the characters deeply and is therefore informative to the reader.

I read this book when I was in high school but I appreciate the story much, much more now. It’s a long read but enjoyable and the characters are all different and interesting.

I wanted to love this so bad. I really thought I would. I just couldn't do it. I read half and truly could not care less about anyone. I did like Dolly but once every 100 chapters was not enough to keep me going. After watching the movie I really thought it would be my vibe. dancing, drama, beautiful scenery are all things I love but it was just so lacklustre to me. I did not care about Levin's farm and that's all it was for so much. Didn't like him and kitty and honestly didn't care about Anna and vronsky either. I really tried to give it my full attention but by the end I just was staring at a page and not reading so I didn't know and didn't care what was going on. I might someday revisit it when I can appreciate it more but as of now I just don't care.

I felt like Levin throughout most of this book

It's very hard to write a review for such a tome. I can say the writing was easy to digest, and I enjoyed the more philosophical musings of the author. It tends to drag at times, but that was expected with the length. I think overall I enjoyed my reading of this, but I won't be rereading it any time soon.
