this kind of mlm critique is interesting and important work and i enjoy jane marie's writing and narration style. the book just doesn't add much to the convo beyond what i already took away from the podcast

While not much different than her podcast, I still gleamed some information. I am a big anti-MLM advocate and love absorbing any information regarding this topic. This should be required reading for all high schoolers so they don't fall for the #girlboss bullshit.

A quick, informative read. I learned quite a bit about the history of MLMs and the factors that contributed to their success in the United States. The background about current MLMs was already familiar to me, but it was interesting to consider COVID's impact on MLM marketing and recruitment. I enjoyed Jane Marie's first season of The Dream and I recommend listening to the Life After MLM podcast by Roberta Blevins.
