I can't say enough good things about this book. I've just began book 3 and it's already one of my top 5 series.

This book is pretty fun. The world building is fairly typical for the genre, as are the twists, but it's not boring. The pining and yearning between Arwen and Kane is done very well. Arwen's motivations and character are consistent. I like that she's honest and dedicated to her family. She has room to grow. The battle scene is chaotic and intense.
Moderate: Child abuse, Chronic illness, Confinement, Death, Gore, Panic attacks/disorders, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Violence, Blood, Vomit, Medical content, Kidnapping, Grief, Death of parent, Fire/Fire injury, Alcohol, War, Injury/Injury detail
I’m not sure why this book gets so much hate. I thought it was excellent. We got all the good tropes and a great plot. Of course shadow daddy Kane
Wowzers. That certainly came together in the last 20% and finished with a bang. Great start to the book, but then slowed slightly, but still kept you pretty interested. The banter was everything!! The twist towards the end was great! Excited to read the next in the series now :)
