The writing style reads quite inexperienced and there were few emotional beats. It's a very simple story that would've done better with a longer length for non-rushed out character development as well as just a non-rushed out plot in general. Despite how quickly things moved, it managed to still feel boring

Really enjoyed the exploration of themes like home, culture, war, and destiny. The author was able to say so much so beautifully in so few pages. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Binti är den första av Himbafolket som blivit erbjuden en plats vid Oomza Universitet. Det är den finaste institutionen för högre utbildning i hela galaxen, men ingen tror att Binti ska acceptera. Kunskap har en kostnad och till och med resan dit innebär en fara. 

Det här är en kort roman - eller en lång novell - så det känns som om vi bara har fått en första introduktion till den här futuristiska världen. Jag blir i alla fall tillräckligt intresserad för att vilja lära mig mer, om både världen och Binti!

A quick sci-fi read with some fantasy notes. I really enjoyed this and am excited to read the others in the series. Interesting characters and plot. Mix of quick plot progression and introspection about identity and home.
