i was mentally preparing myself before picking up this volume because i thought it was the last one. foolish me. not only there is a ninth volume (only an anthology, so not technically a continuation of the current storyline) but at the end of this volume there was a promise: third cycle coming soon
well, count me in. i can't wait.
this is probably my favourite graphic novel series just for the rarity that i liked both the writer and the artist. i have to keep on reading it. although there isn't a confirmed date for the tenth volume (scott snyder probably too busy writing about bats and men than vampires), trust me when i say i will be waiting

The thrilling tale of Skinner Sweet, and his ilk, concludes!

I don't know if I liked this volume as much as some of the earlier ones. But I would gladly keep reading this series, especially because of what happened to Sweet at the end (Whaaaaaaat)

Yeah, I'm losing interest. Vampires going up in space... meh. This one feels like it's trying to put vampires into all this American history and it's losing me. It feels like it's shifting from connecting to characters to connecting to events and that just isn't my cup of tea. That ending though... not gonna lie, I'm slightly more interested to see where it's going to go. But for now, I'm caught up with this series.

Is it the ending to the American Vampire saga? I'm scratching my head at the ending. It feels like a serious cliff hanger. I loved the storyline but it all felt rushed. I'm disappointed by that. Beautiful illustrations as usual however. That and my love for the series saved it from just getting 2 stars as a rating.

The second cycle just doesn't hit the mark like the first. The grey trader is a really interesting villain and I still love the characters but I'm just not as in love with volumes 6+8 as I was the first few volumes.

It was so weird and entertaining at the same time that I just went with it. The story went off the rails and I had to just go okay. Especially with the elephant. Mad.

So much fun, but are we going to get a conclusion? Also, quite a few typos.
