Wow...M. Sinclair absolutely blew me away with with story! It was both heartbreaking and utterly awe-inspiring.
Despite Maya’s extremely traumatic life, she still was able to see the good life. To be strong and fight to live and love. She is a truly beautiful and inspiring character.
Then there are her protective men. Marco, Henry, Atlas, Sai, Ledger, Anani and Croy. These gorgeous, protective, men. Their connection with Maya was stunning to watch unfold. Each of them with their own special, unique connection to her. I loved watching those bonds take shape. And the comfortability they all had with each other and with Maya.
This book certainly had some sensitive topics, so please do read the warnings.
This story was beautifully tragic, but also hopeful. There was such beauty in the words and story that M. Sinclair weaved. And Maya being the shifter she is, certainly makes a lot of sense with her strength and perseverance amongst other things.
I truly cannot wait to dig into book 2 and see what happens next!

Reborn in Flames begins when the heroine is moved to a new town after living in a church basement her whole life. She is experiencing new things, and meeting new people. But, they are hiding things from her and her secrets may be revealed soon.
This book was really good. It had great characters, and a really interesting story line. I can't wait to read more in the series.

So this is a case where the plot seems to wrap up about 70% of the way through the book. Not going to elaborate much further on that, but I was getting a little impatient by the end.
The thing that bothered me was the editing. Spelling errors might just be the work of the ebook, but one of my pet peeves is when published authors use words that aren’t words, but that people think are words. Your spell check has failed you, because “agreeance” is, contrary to popular belief, not a word. Also, the word you were searching for is “presumably”, not “presumily”.
I’ve read other works by M. Sinclair and didn’t encounter this, so I’m not sure what the issue was, but it took me out enough for me to want to mention it.
Also, the character distinction was rough going. We had multiple POVs which I LOVE but all the guys sounded the same. And while I know what the goal was for our beautiful, perfect, naive FMC, I don’t know that it was fully achieved because it was only half committed to. Every time she knew something, it was thanks to Cosmo Ex Machina. But when she didn’t know something, it’s something that definitely would have been found in Cosmo. That said, it was the placeholder male characters that frustrated me most. We were told what their personalities were, and they are all different, but those personalities don’t come through.

They used the wrong form of “you’re” and apparently everyone in the harem has to be super famous, but also not. Like Henry is a doctor, Marco owns a supersuccessful business we know nothing about, Atlas is some super spy, and the twins are in a super popular band that’s only a thing sometimes. It’s a bit much.
I’m seriously obsessed with the guys in this book. This is a fated mates type of situation and all the guys make their intentions clear from the start, yet they go at Maya’s own pace since she’s so ignorant of the world. Maya had spent her entire life trapped in a church basement and was emotionally and physically abused my both of her “parents”. She had no idea of the magical world nor of the human one. She walks into the world completely blind after her mother decides to take her out of the basement. Her mother and her boyfriend, Jed (a total creep) takes her to Washington, which is where she’ll first run into one of her mates at a gas station and later meet 3 more at school. There will 7 mates total, but I never felt like there were to many. Each guy has his own recognizable personality and the only guy I ever felt could be left out was Anani. Maya has this childlike curiosity of the world and at times I found it annoying, but for the most part it was tolerable. She is also a major “girly girl”, I generally stick to MC who are bit more “dark & moody” so I’m not super into how she rolls. The guys treat her like a princess and love her tenderly. She’s treated as if she’s fine china and precious. I usually like an MC who doesn’t need a man to take care of herself, but will accept a partner, an equal. I’ve already read the second book and I believe Maya will grow into a strong woman, at least that’s my hope. I’m excited to see how the future of the series develops and I hope Maya will mature a bit.

This was such a good book and now I’m going to have to read more dragon shifter stories. I enjoyed this immensely and will probably reread it again this year.
