Ok listen......This book was good but not in the way I wanted it to be.
Was it a fun read? Absolutely? Is Enzo eligible for best book boyfriend award 100%. HOWEVER ... I have 2 qualms
Qualm 1: There was too many cheesy moments that took me out of it. Like the whole period scene? Be soooo incredibly forreal. The explanation of a record player? Please. It would be like a good rhythm and flow going, but then some cheesy dumb thing would happen and it would make me put down the book.
Qualm 2: WHY DID ALL OF THAT HAPPEN AT THE END?!?!?!?!? I won't spoil it but the last handful of chapters were so out of left field and it made the plot feel muddy to me. I love the idea, it was just subpar execution for me personally. There was a lot of fluff stuff that happened in the beginning, and I just felt like there was a lot of fat that could have been cut out to make that ending have more of an impact.
Bonus Qualm: I HATEDDDDDDDDD
So all in all I did have fun reading this book, I had to remind myself that this was like a romance book in a fantasy setting so while I did get annoyed at times, it explained some plot choices, AND Enzo is top tier IMO. Like...... top tier.

Spoiler
the way that there were so many half assed "break ups" and back and forths like by the 3rd one I just skimmed until they made up again because it just seemed irrelevantSo all in all I did have fun reading this book, I had to remind myself that this was like a romance book in a fantasy setting so while I did get annoyed at times, it explained some plot choices, AND Enzo is top tier IMO. Plot is not unique. The enemy-dynamic between the FMC and MMC is so forced.
