I still absolutely love this universe!! Unlike the first series where the books felt the same, this book felt completely different to the first book but also worked very well!

I found the situation that Cleo was put in was really interesting, and I thought Wawa was awesome!!

3.4 stars. The first book of this series is phenomenal. This one was good but not great. It had a lot of excellent ideas in it, but just didn't rise to the same level of excellence.

- Female main character is so smart, strong, and clever. She survives alone in a jungle (on another planet) for a year. Yes, she has a pet that also contributes, but she is able to make it by herself and do a great job at hiding and protecting herself.
- Male main character is thoughtful and intelligent. He's pretty interesting, but gets shallow in weird ways. He hides information from the heroine several times and with no good reason.
- The relationship is a lot more insta-lust and less believable than Riv and Lauren. They could have had more slow burn (which I personally love), but instead go from zero to sexy times pretty quickly. And without much progression, they are both convinced of their life-long love for each other. For instance, they never really share much about their pasts and the hero is constantly having hangups that he doesn't address.

It's a fun world with interesting characters. I'm hoping the third book is better, but I'm a little afraid we might see a further devolution of the story/plot.

It's crazy to me how much better this series is compared to A.G. Wilde's Captured by Aliens series. I just couldn't get into those books but I'm devouring these so quickly! I love Sohut and Cleo, I love that Cleo is self-sufficient and able to survive on her own for a year (with the help of her fierce monkey-pet). I'm looking forward to more books in this series!

I liked this, but it just felt a little too short. I would have liked to spend more time with these two. I feel like Wilde could write a long epic really well if she were inclined to.

I really liked this couple and their schmexy jungle romance!

So--we get a badass survivalist h, Cleo who has been successfully hiding out in the alien jungle from her kidnappers for the past year- accompanied by her not quite monkey companion (who is as adorable as he is dangerous) when the Big Bads finally send in their best tracker to bring her back.

Our H, Sohut, (Riv's younger brother) is a stoic male who likes to spend his time hunting, and is more at peace in the wilderness than around others. When he takes this job thinking its going to be a routine animal capture he realizes pretty quick that his prey might not only be smarter and more wily than he thought- but not the creature he was lead to believe he would find.

Instead he finds Cleo- who is definitely willing to give him the most interesting hunt of his life.

And yes, thanks to my brain going right to George of the Jungle for gifs- I now want to go watch that movie.

I liked it. I thought it was pretty sweet. Cleo was interesting she was pretty smart about things and listened to her gut like her dad taught her. Sohut was sweet and hard at the same time an alpha male basically. It was pretty insta lovey not to bad where they see each other and just jump each other but it kinda just happens lol. Cuz she doesn't trust him one paragraph ago then the next she's asking him to... Well I'm sure you can guess (wink, wink) this is an adult book. The adult parts where good and steamy. The only problem i had was that I just didn't love it as much as the first book.
I can't really say why I did enjoy it but it was just so easy to figure out what was going to happen I guess it just made it hard for me to really want to read the rest. Its good for an adult alien romance don't get me wrong maybe I read it when I just wasn't in the mood for a book like this idk lol. I may read it again at some point and I'll edit my review if my mind changes. We shall see...
