Oh my god I loved this book!!! Couldn’t put it down! It’s been a while since a book has intrigued me this much where I stay up this late to read.
Not quite a 5-star because of the typos. Maybe some similarities between other books but honestly I don’t care at all.
I did see the first twist coming for a while but the second one!! I’m still confused what’s happening there and can’t wait to learn more!

I am so confused by this book that I have no clue where to begin.
My first thought when I started this book was that it immediately reminded me of “Uglies” by Scott Westerfield and “Divergent” by Veronica Roth… and unfortunately this book read so similar to those that I don’t feel it had its own unique style or taste to it. I got to 12% of the way through and felt that this book has absolutely no plot to it (maybe it is a slower pace but I feel like for the type of book it is, it should’ve had a bit more pace and depth to it at that percent mark than it actually did).
The FMC felt disjointed and we hadn’t even met the MMC and we were 95 pages in (but yet we got the FMCs brother’s pov?!) I honestly just don’t get it. The parents of the FMC were confusing as well and I just overall did not connect to any of the characters (hence why I’m DNFing).

I wasn’t sure going into the book but it was a great surprise
This is such a good series so far, I can’t wait to read the rest of it
Storywise: super interesting! I longed to read something other than the usual fae romantasy, and this distopian narrative meets scifi (?) was refreshing.
Romance wise: I tried to care but I was mostly annoyed with both Forrest and Fallon. I listened to the audiobook, and found myself screaming at their words, actions and thoughts at multiple occasions (which I still prefer over not caring for a book at all but still).
I found myself wishing at the end of every chapter that the next one would be Kaiden (excuse me if I spell any names incorrectly since I listened to it), because I was way more interested in his journey and relation with Hunter/the realization of what that was. There were not enough chapters from his perspective

The idea is amazing. But so many errors throughout. No editing, so many typos and spelling mistakes. Massive plot holes. Offent the author said something then went back on that, sometimes in the same chapter. Very disappointing.

✾This is a dystopian story filled with love, betrayal and so much emotions. I was kicking my feet and screeching like a banshee! These characters made me feel all the emotions. I can’t tell you how many times I gasped! I was invested in the character and the plot. I will be starting book 2 immediately.
