Okay, so this book got me out of a slump JUST TO PUT ME RIGHT BACK IN ONE!
This isn't my typical read, but I saw a tiktok on it and thought "hell yeah, I loved dystopian books as a teen" and gave it a shot. I'm honestly not disappointed and it is in my top 5 reads of the year so far.
I enjoyed the writing style of Forest, but it has multiple POVs which isn't my style, however I appreciated the back story and some of the information it showed us. I loved how the ending linked to the beginning. The world building was great, although I did get lost a few times.
Xavier had me blushing and squealing, he is such a great character. Forest was enjoyable, she really showed a wide range of characteristics and showed that it can be difficult to accept part of yourself. Fallan was great, although his whole hot and cold character did get annoying.
The plot twist was beautifully done, and came out of a left field. I really didn't see several of them coming.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I cannot wait for the second!!

It’s slow in the beginning til you hit your first plot twist then they just keep coming. For bit it gets to the point where the thing kept happening but once you get past that you’re good.
