Was intrigued when I stumbled upon a small clip of the book on TT, and I really liked the premise of it & was on KU, so I decided to give it a try.
We are introduced to a dystopian world split into different society classes: the unfortunate and the untouchables. Our FMC is Forest, part of the untouchable society, who is constantly questioning her way of life and more. This is multiple POV, the majority from the FMC. I do think it dragged a little. There were some grammatical errors, but I read that the author was already on that. There was a lot of push/pull between the FMC and the MMC. I wouldn't categorize this book as an "enemies to lovers" but more of a "dislike to lovers." The MMC is part of the lower society (unfortunates). I kinda saw a lot of the things happening in the book coming. Some of the characters, especially the MMC, fell flat to me. IDK, I felt something was missing. Maybe it lacked depth? Maybe the intensity comes in the next book.. I found myself having to re-read some of the dialogue, and I felt like I had whiplash when first reading some of the said dialogue. I did enjoy the majority of the author's writing style. I do believe there's potential with where she's going. I loved the author included art throughout the book, and I'd like to see more of this. I don't wanna give any spoilers, but if you like multiple POVs (1st person), character art, and dystopian/fantasy theme, I suggest giving it a try. This is an unfinished series and is left in a cliffhanger. I'm not eager to start th 2nd, but I think I'll eventually pick it up to continue the series.

This book is in serious need of an editor, but the story is fantastic.
This really could’ve been about 300 pages shorter. There was so much filler that added nothing to the story and was honestly just hard to get through, but I did enjoy the tension and characters and the plot was good enough that I’ll probably continue on!

It has a good storyline but the writing is kind of rough. It feels jumbled and confusing at times.
