Long and left on cliffhanger- 2.5 stars

I almost fell asleep reading this book.

ends on a severe cliffhanger but also flashback and honestly i don’t give a fuck what happened in her past. i want the now. i love unpacking her paranoia, trauma, neglect, and abandonment in real time as she grapples with not one but TWO MEN in her life accusing her of neglecting her life and overreacting. i don’t care if they’re good guys in the end they are both so cruel and manipulative towards her it’s WILD.

I expected more

Psychological thriller full of twists and lies...
The twist is you'll need to read the series I guess.

There were many times I was going to stop reading but I kept hoping to get to the twists and lies.

This is not a novel - it's a long, drawn-out, introduction to what I'm assuming is the real story and the next book?

Short quick read.

CLIFFHANGER ALERT!

This author writes characters so realistically that you get a real feel for their moods, desires and insecurities. The tension ratchets up deliciously, I can't wait for the next instalment!

The first thing I thought when I started reading: the apostrophe instead of quotation marks when people are talking is going to severely bother me.

After finishing: The story isn't bad, just not my cup of tea.
