Book #4 complete for the year! Great debut novel for Kara Douglas! I enjoyed the journey of Amira. After about the 40% mark (where the story picks up pace), I couldn't put the book down. It wasn't clear who was speaking at several spots in the book, but, other than that, I give this debut novel 4 star! I cannot wait to read the sequel and learn how Amira navigates Crea and her found (royal) family! Keep writing Kara because if this is your debut novel, I cannot wait to read what you write in the future!

I. π‹πŽπ•π„πƒ this book. I’m very mad at myself for taking so long to read this. It everything I hoped it would be and then some.

10/10 loved. It was definitely a lighter fantasy which I will forever appreciate. I love all things fantasy but the lighter, easier to read ones are the best! Kara really did her thang with this one!

Very well written. I mean there were twists and turns all over the place. For ME, there were characters I began to love and then later on started to hate. When I thought one thing about a character Kara made sure to throw something in there to make me feel like β€œoh okay just kidding sorry”

FREAKING FANTASTIC. I cannot WAIT to see what comes next. So much so that I ended Lunaria and immediately started Illuminance. Again, the plot also had so many twists and turns I had no idea what was happening or what was coming. When I thought one thing I switched and started thinking another. NONE of my theories were right. Which speaks volumes about the talent Kara has if I say so myself.

Love love loved. Definitely recommend πŸ’‹

Love is Blind meets Game of Thrones meets some sort of twisted mystery… kind of like an unreliable narrator, but not, because Lu is such an innocent but strong independent FMC I love her!

Two words. The library!! πŸ“š I want to hide in there forever!! 😍

No spice… so the series is slow burn (book 2 the spice ramps up I hear) but there’s (maybe, but also not) a triangle of a sort… cannot elaborate more on that πŸ˜…

I loved this book! It was more slow paced at the beginning because of the world building. And the only reason I took off 0.5 ⭐️ was that I felt gaslit/cognitive dissonance for the whole first half of the book cuz her dad is awful! (My anxiety and mothering didn’t like that)

SO MUCH happens in the last 10 chapters my mind is REELING!! It reveals a LOT!! But I still have so many questions to be answered!!

I loved this book! The first part was slow and slightly predictable but about 75% through it really grips you and doesn’t let go! I loved the twists and turns and trying to tie all the pieces together. Can’t wait to see where the next one goes! Also the imagery in this book is so nice and the array of characters is amazing!
