I read this book after being recommended it by a friend and can I just say I was not disappointed!! The first couple of chapters were tricky because of the world building but it was definitely necessary. As soon as I had fallen head first into the plot I did not resurface until I hit the acknowledgments page. This book really was amazing and the characters were so charming too, (Graylen, anyone??

Lunaria is one of those books that feels so rooted in honesty. Reading through Amira’s story It felt so clear to me that Kara was writing from her own heart and experience.
Amira was so easy to adore, and I love that she doesn’t always get it right, she can be impulsive, and reactionary, and she’s also deeply loyal. I loved watching her come into her own in a way that felt real.

The beginning of the book is a slow introduction into Amira’s life. I personally am a fan of slow world building and slice of life writing and Kara makes Valor such a fun world to walk around in that I didn’t mind.

Even if slice of life isn’t your usual cup of tea, the character and world development here is what makes the rest of the book positively shine.

The cliff hanger had me jumping out of my seat and my husband asking if I was going to be okay.

Absolutely cannot wait for book 2

WOAH. I don’t even know where to start with reviewing this. The complexity of the characters and plot had me hooked from the first chapter. Even with this book being a slow burn I still never felt myself bored with what was going on, and even when I thought I knew what was coming next, I was always surprised. I also feel the need to add that I knew there was a reason I was drawn to Graylen’s character that had nothing to do with my attraction to morally grey characters lol. My only regret is reading this book so early because I NEED more!!!

This was a little but of a slow read until 30%. Not a lot happens and not only is it kind of boring but there’s not really much world building that’s relevant to the rest of the book

It definitely does pick up after that but the story was just okay. Most of the story was very predictable and there seemed to be a few scenes that just didn’t really feel necessary.

The last chapter was everything I wanted in the rest of the book. High stakes, magic, & hard decisions.

I wish magic was brought in the story before the last 10% as this seemed like a little bit of an afterthought even though it’s a huge plot point.

The last chapter made the entire book worth reading and it opens up the next book to really hit the ground running for the rest of the series.

I would consider this book a decent pallet cleanser after a heavy fantasy book where you’re looking for a bit of fluff.

I received an ARC of this title from The Nerd Fam. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My first question is HOW is this a debut novel?!

I found it so beautifully written; featuring a diverse cast of compelling characters, a captivating plot that kind of crept up and got its hooks in me before I realized, and the sort of imagery I yearn to find within a fantasy romance novel.

If you’re looking for a slow-burn love triangle, action-packed and plot-twist heavy Romantasy, I would definitely recommend Lunaria.

A gripping start to the The Unraveled Fate Series— this one will give you ALL the feels.

The more reviews I write the harder they become to write, especially when it’s a read like this and all I want to do is yell and scream and throw my feet up and giggle about it like the maniac that I am.

Lunaria is simply beautiful.

The writing is amazing and it’s the perfect balance of plot, world, and character.

I had so many feelings surrounding her nightmares and this “tonic” her asshat of a father was giving her and although we don’t get the answers in Lunaria, we get enough to know something is amiss in Crea besides the dodder root.

And yes, I have a new book boyfriend because Graylen is EVERYTHING and I cannot wait to get more of him, and of course Lunaria, Addie, and Avery in Illuminance 3.21.24
