"And thus I learned the difference between a skill and a calling."
Just imagine. Being good, really good at something. And everybody thinks so, and they applaud you for being so very good at it. And everytime someone asks you to perform your feats, you feel like throwing up. Yeah...

Probably my favorite in the whole series, as it starts with Pen being thrown into a dark pit, only to find even more trouble once he gets out of it. The other characters are quite intriguing, including potential love interest Nikys, and the pace of the story is satisfying.

Huvitav, lugedes oli lihtsalt tore, aga nyyd, kui paar päeva on möödas, tundub väga hea.

The series continues with the mix of irony and good sense it started. Lots of allusions to Bujold’s other books - and in a good way too.

Might be my favourite Penric yet. It was unputdownable, had great emotional resonance and a dash of both romance and humour. I am torn between reading the rest right away and trying to keep some for later.

Definitely the least gripping of this series so far, but still not bad
