This book was amazing. The way Skyler connects the characters in this book to the others is amazing. Leaves you wanting more! Cannot wait for part two!

"She belongs to me, and even though I can’t forgive her, a deep primal part of me can never let her go.
She’s mine.
My love for her has always been dark and twisted like this—even before it became hate-filled love—but it’s never waned."

This read deserves my eye roll.
I would not be a fan of second-chance romance unless it were well-written.
This wasn't at all. It only got me frustrated and annoyed with the characters.

It's a short read, plotline and growth were out of the picture.
However, the characters are all unlikable.
Mark was already a dickhead. He didn't even feel bad until the last minute; at least let him grovel and work a little more complicated.

Whitney got me so angry too.
I was rooting for her. She was doing so well, but how did sex change things so quickly?
It was her weakness to him, so many eyes were closed despite their action, words and banter.

"Even when a part of me hates her, something deeper inside knows that hatred comes from love. Deep, agonizing love that even the most euphoric hatred can’t overcome. She’s everything I ever wanted in a woman. Even now, when she’s cold and distant with me, when all her warmth is for the children."

I started reading Purity but since it was rage inducing I decided to read the novella about Cole's parents instead, to see if I could come back to Purity. Sad to say I don't think it worked.

Faithless is about a couple where the husband has spent 15 years, yes 15 years not months, fucking around on the wife he supposedly loves. Right away I knew this was going a shit show. The wife is a doormat who accepts this humiliating and degrading behaviour because she cheated once with an ex. Have I mentioned I hate doormats? Whitney is one to a tee. Even now I know she'll take him back in the next book cause it's called Forgiveness. Cuing the vomit emojii.
The only way I'd accept such a pathetic response to 15 years of emotional abuse, would be if he actually did something heroic, like I don't know -donated a fucking organ that she needed to live. Otherwise there is nothing this piece of shit could do that would convince me he deserves to have his wife back. His PoV did nothing to convince me he was anything other than a selfish, narcissist.

The story line was engrossing but only for the train wreck effect. The dialogue felt stilted and repetitive and the sex scene was not hot. I never bought that this two, at any time had been in love. I don't want them together because their marriage was a joke and their relationship was toxic. Considering that Cole is following in dad's footsteps you can see what stellar parents they were as well.

When Sky told me she was writing Whitney and Mark’s story I was ecstatic! And she didn’t disappoint!

Mark is horrible, true he felt betrayed, but his behavior for the past 15 years is inexcusable.
Whitney’s been living in her guilt for far too long, so it’s nice to see her buckle down and stand up to Mark.

I can’t wait for part two!
