Much better than some of her other books! The love interest wasn’t an unbearable asshole, he was sweet and caring and had something more to his personality other than sex. Mack was so sweet too. Though, true to Elle Kennedy she did give off a little pick me vibes at the start here and there but no where near as bad as her older books and honestly it was mostly just knit picking.

I really liked the premise of this story it was fun to read and I feel like Mack and Cooper worked really well together.

I did feel the pacing drag a little in some areas but that’s pretty much it.

It’s giving wattpad’s older sister. Take that as you will.

I looooved the dynamic between the characters, strong pogue vs kouk vibes. Actually reminded me a bit of outer banks in that respect.

Overall this book was super entertaining. The characters were developed well, morally icky but that’s my opinion.

I hated that Mac only found out about the revenge plot 30 pages from the end. Like where’s the closure.
The ending felt a bit rushed.

the only thing this book missed for me was a little bit more mess from Preston Kincaid.

Had to DNF-couldn't handle the insufferable characters/
Mac is a terrible person. Cooper is a terrible person. Preston is terrible. All of these characters are terrible people who treat each other like garbage. infidelity is constantly being defended in this book...Wtf..... Elle Kennedy is one of my favorite authors, but the Avalon Bay series is not it.

The next book is supposed to be about cooper's brother Evan, but Evan is a bully and a terrible friend in this book which begs the question, why would i want a whole book about this character?

I enjoyed this book but I hated the ending. It was very rushed and I feel it would have been better with a epilogue to send us into what happened to them over the next few months or so.
I know there’s a second book coming out but still!

Just not into the characters. The conflict was a stretch, and I’m not really into the “he made a bet he could get her” trope.

I almost didn't pick up this book due to the overload of 1-star reviews on the main page, however, I am so glad I did. Avalon Bay felt so familiar and comforting - I literally think I've had a night exactly like Mac & Cooper sitting on the beach until the early morning hours, getting lost in conversation, listening to the waves... so nostalgic. I loved the pace, the character development, the banter, the chemistry, and the revenge trope really worked for me (despite feeling like the other shoe was going to drop at any moment). Cooper is swoon-worthy for sure, I mean, come on "I miss my girls, damnit." The rocking chairs?! I am invested.

Also, haven't all 21 year-olds thought the thought “Fuck love. Build the empire.” at one point in their life? Or... is that just me? Thank goodness life didn't end at 21.

subpar, i thought it was pretty boring at times, but i did like their relationship and witty comments. mac’s pretty relatable, i would hate being lied to twice like that also ): i did love the setting and the vibes that this book gave off. the campfires, sand, and waves. i also loved that elle kennedy incorporated a tight brotherhood between cooper and evan. why have one hot dude when you can have a clone copy of one with a different personality, am i right? mac’s a girlboss bc of her business and owning her independence at the end of the book! it just lacked some type of drama i needed.
