reading anastasia’s story sometimes felt a bit too relatable, i loved the relationship between nate and anastasia, hated aaron, lots of smut(a bit too cringy at times)

I think this book was what I was looking for at the moment, something cute and easy to read.
There were times where it was a bit predictable but it was fine overall.

I thought it was fine, super cheesy and highly unrealistic but a decent enough romance. However, the book was about 200 pages too long and I felt it dragging on in the second half. The writing has potential but the author needs a better editor, there was a lot of overexplaining and a lot could’ve been cut.
Still could’ve been a 3 star read but I HATED the epilogue.
The main character gets pregnant, despite repeatedly emphasizing that she does in fact not want that, ever, a year out of college? She can’t be older at 23 at that point, with a whole career ahead of her, but noooo, for the sake of plot (what plot?) she gets knocked up. I hated that and I can’t believe people seem to be fine with that.

I LOVED the side characters in this book. Especially the hockey team. The only thing that made me want to keep reading was those characters. The main character was unlikeable, and how she blatantly ignored all concerns from everyone around her about her abusive partnership drove me nuts. She constantly claimed to be self aware but never actually acted accordingly. I loved the love interest, but he definitely settled. It also wasn't really an enemies to lovers because they got together so quickly. Also WHY did she need to nearly drown. It didn’t feel relevant for needed in the story whatsoever

This book reads a lot like PWP for stretches at a time, but then the plot sneaks in and it’s actually a good book. Not a lot of college sports romance books take on disordered eating, toxic friendships, adoptee/adopted parent expectation dynamics, and sports leadership without toxic masculinity. I’m tempted to give this 4 stars, but it’s not quite my vibe with that much college binge drinking.
