Katherine Center strikes again with yet another book I love, her fmcs are always so relatable and funny

Nothing life changing but it was cute and fun. I'm glad the blacklist isn't all flops. I don't see myself buying this one for my collection (because I have to be honest, it wasn't that memorable) but I still had a good time.

I always enjoy books written by Katherine Center. I kind of wish I had known this was related to What You Wish For, I would have read it first even though you don't have to. The story with Helen and Jake was cute. I loved that they were hiking in the wilderness.  Now I feel like i need to watch the Netflix show!

Loved this one! Read it in one day and couldn’t put it down! I usually hate long chapters but they didn’t feel long in this book. It was such a fun quick read.

Quotes:
Having doesn’t make you happy: appreciating does.”

“I don’t think trying to be happy means you can never be sad…It’s sadness that gives happiness its meaning.”

“After a year of talking to almost no one but Pickle and feeling a constant, unfulfilled longing for some kind of happiness almost like it was a prize I could win, I had finally come to understand that not getting what you want is actually the trick to it all. Because not getting what you want forces you to appreciate what you already have.
I finally got that if you were always in a state of longing you could never truly get satisfied,…”

"I fell in love with his hair, and his beard, and the way his eyes crinkle when he smiles, and his goofy Hawaiian shirts, and his can-do attitude, and the way he applies Band-Aids.
I fell in love with the way he's read every book in the world. How he listens when you talk and remembers what you say. How he knows every fact in existence about the ocean and the creatures that live in it. I fell in love with his forearms, and his calf muscles, and the way his front two teeth are just a little longer than the others. And the dimples.
And the way he sings. And the way he watches me, and pays attention in a way that guys never, ever do and seems to get something essential about me that I don't even get myself."

“Love is always a disaster, darling. That’s what makes it fun.”
