The title is a bit misleading as this book had more depth and soul than what we typically think of as a “beach read”. This was not as fluffy as the mid-90s chick lit books. The characters were flawed and sad and angry and lost and spent the book trying to find their way to happiness. It was funny and heart wrenching. Even if you’re not a fan of the romance genre, this is a good book about people finding their people.

Made me a lot more emotional than I expected. I really related to the main character, January. Not just a romance, also a love story about family. Didn’t care for the ending too much.
