I’m leaning towards a 4.5. I’d read it again 10x over.
Both MCs are overcoming a lot. They come together to make each other better (as friends and writers) and things go from there. MMC is pretty closed off through the whole book. It’s a bit frustrating, but understood the more you get to know him.
The FMC is strong and independent (mostly because she has to be) and while she’s going through a ton & claim she’s given up, she clearly hasn’t.
As a reader who hates a third act break up/ miscommunication and all the “woe is me” monologues that go with it, Emily Henry kept it pretty short and sweet and almost overshadowed the “situation”with something more developmentally important for the FMC.

It’s always “wyd?” and never “When I watch you sleep, I feel overwhelmed that you exist.”

This was so good. I really loved this. I enjoyed our two characters and the whole story we had with them. I loved seeing them together and just how good they were together. I loved the little adventures they went on and how each one developed their relationship more. I loved the side characters and I loved the setting. Very picturesque and fitting for the book. So funny and so deep. Definitely a new favorite from Emily Henry!
