Nice book! No matter what you are and who you are if you don't respect for what someone believes, and you don't also have a creativity. You are already dead when you born. Start Living!

This was a reread for me, and it holds up well.  Words of wisdom and inspiration with really great illustrations.

I borrowed the audiobook from my library, so I have not seen the illustrations (and had no idea this was an illustrated book until just now).

The first half is a manifesto/credo regarding the importance of literacy and our responsibility to ensure a literate next generation. The second half of the book is a collection of essays and advice, mainly geared towards fiction writers. I was coming at this with the idea of getting some motivation for my visual art, so Art Matters wasn't as relevant as I hoped, but it is still a good read.
