I'm still not sure how they jump to the conclusion that the Pied Piper is tied to recent murders so early on, but it is an interesting book w an unexpected twist at the end.

This was a unique serial killer & revenge story. I don’t think I’ve ever read one quite like this.

I love Alex North's writing and was so happy to pick up a copy of this book. The book follows a young boy who after a chance meeting on his way home with a man in a service station only to find out later this was a serial killer.
I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book with the dual timelines. I found the small island setting to be very atmospheric and I was on the edge of my seat throughout waiting to find out what happened in the past and what was happening in the present.
I would highly recommend this book.

Loved the twists and turns. Would have been 5 stars if it was slightly less wordy and more to the point. Still really enjoyed the story, very well done!

I liked the confusing storylines and playing with timelines. I liked the characters and the overall plot. I semi enjoyed the writing. There was this writing style he did where he had the main character talk in his head to people and create fake conversations to figure out what was going on and I wasn't a big fan of that writing choice personally. I also figured out the ending twist right away near the beginning when the person was first introduced so that was a bummer. The rest of the book though was good.
