This book was beautifully written but so disturbing. I felt like I was watching a criminal minds episode. I loved the multiple POVs and I was honestly very on edge the entire time I was reading this. It’s been a long time since I read a thriller that really disturbed me and I forgot how unpleasant of a feeling it is hahaha
It has a bunch of things I like, serial killers, dual timeline, kidnappings, etc, but I don't think I enjoyed the writing style. I can't pinpoint what it was.

This is my first book by Alex North. The story was good, but I found some of the jumping back and forth in time to be a little clunky. Maybe it is just because I was reading the audiobook version, but some times I had to rewind 30 seconds to make sure I was in the right timeframe.
I did like the story, some of it was a little fanciful, especially towards the end, but I enjoyed the characters and the setting. The pace was somewhere between slow and medium, but that did not distract from the plot. The character building was good, but the story did not allow for much character growth.
The narration was done well, in almost deadpan, but some emotion at crucial times. I'd read more by this author, and would listen to this narrator again.
