Queer Snow White. Good world building, some characters make me want to punch a wall so the writer did her job? Very quick read, easy to get lost in

This book was a bit of a mixed reading experience for me. I felt as though the book dragged and had massive lulls in the plot. I also disliked some of the characters. I felt Rose's character could have been handled with much more nuance, instead, it came across as this tired vilification of women who care about appearance and worry about age. I did enjoy many things about this book though. Overall, it was a fun book and I enjoyed this spin on the Sleeping Beauty story. I loved the relationship between Aurora and Alyce. I was enthralled by the downward spiral that is the end of the book. I am unsure if I will read the second book but I am glad that I read this one.

Wanted to absolutely love it for the sapphic retelling but I felt I was being told the story instead of showed it because of all of the long, drawn out world building pages in the middle of a scene. The villain reveal was underwhelming as I felt suspicious the whole time and by the end I could feel myself rolling my eyes every time I read “dragons teeth!” Overall, it was alright, but took forever to read and I never really felt like I got hooked in to the story and got excited to finish it. Hoping the sequel is better though, going to give it an honest shot.

Did not end how I was expecting, but an enjoyable story overall. Kind of reminded me of a gay Cinderella with a dark twist

Okayyy this book had me fucked up. *SPOILERS* I fucking KNEW Kal was bad news from the jump. Ugh. Can you tell I just finished this 5 minutes ago and I’m still recovering? I loved this way more than I thought I would at the onset and I am obsessed with the end stage carnage. I almost teared up when I saw where it was going. Love it, half star for gayyy
