Het verhaal is erg goed in elkaar gezet. De karakters worden erg uitgebreid en goed neergezet. Het is fijn om een goed beschreven lesbisch karakter te hebben in een fictie boek. Dat zal waarschijnlijk te danken zijn aan de lhbti-schrijfster. Het verhaal is spannend en is goed te volgen.

I was disappointed in this novel, I wanted to love it and had heard a lot of hype surrounding it. A sapphic retelling of Sleeping Beauty with an antihero love interest sounded promising, but there was a whole lot of lead-in for not a lot of delivery. I know there's a second novel, but there's a difference between telling a story and leaving it on a cliffhanger for the second novel to pick up and just writing a mediocre story that drags on across two books.
