A re-telling of Sleeping Beauty. Alyce is known as "the Dark Grace" of Briar - sought out for her dark potions, but hated and abhorred by all. Aurora is the princess of the realm, cursed to die if she does not find her true love. When Alyce and Aurora meet, there is an immediate connection that begins to grow into something more .... what if the princess's true love is the Dark Grace. Will this fairy tale re-telling have a happily ever after?

This book takes a very unique take on the story of Sleeping Beauty and the creation of Maleficent. The author has build a fantastic world in Briar with interesting characters and a totally new take on the story of Aurora's true love. (3 stars)

NETGALLEY BOOK –  I RECEIVED A COMPLIMENTARY ADVANCED READER COPY OF THIS BOOK THROUGH NETGALLEY. OPINIONS EXPRESSED IN THIS REVIEW ARE COMPLETELY MY OWN.)

This author is very good at creating interesting stories and cute romances, but the writing is soo… !!!ugh!!! So boring!!!! Very telly, VERY formulaic (hits all the same beats as her other series too), and lacked any kind of excitement! I felt the entire time that I was just waiting for some sort of change of pace or action or something!! But god dang it, the story and characters are interesting so on to book 2

Another over hyped novel.

The storyline is quite forgettable. I read this novel only four months ago and can't remember anything that happened.

PAIN. SUFFERING. I CANNOT EVEN. ahem. Anyways, I just finished Malice, and I can confirm that Heather Walter is an incredible writer with massive big brain energy, the ending was INSANE. I am flabbergasted. Shocked. Bamboozled. If you haven’t read Malice yet, go do it!! You won’t regret it. 5/5 stars!!!

FEMALE RAGE AT ITS FINEST! AND WITH SAPPHIC THEMESSSSS! This was everything I love in fantasy and more. I'm giving it just 4 stars cause it's a bit too predictable, the romance is a bit weird, not saying that much to me and because Kal was an absolute bitch who didn't know shit about anything. I was here for the ride and the last 3 chapters (maybe?) just screamed female rage the way I wanted, which was very surprising. I'm getting the sequel as we speak. I NEED MORE DESTRUCTION. AND I NEED MY TWO BABES UNITED AGAIN.

Honestly, I wanted more from this story. A f/f retelling of Maleficent sounds like a wonderful idea, but I consistently felt bored with the writing and Alyce's character. Even the romance was so...tepid. It was fine, overall? I just don't think it was for me.

I reallllly enjoyed this one! By far the best fairytale princess reimagining I’ve read, and I’ve read many of them. Nothing like a sapphic spin on Sleepy Beauty

I love fairytale reimaginings and this sapphic retelling of Cinderella is full of twists and turns and great fun to read. It’s dark, compelling and magical , an enjoyable YA read.
