I don’t know if I got a bad copy or something, but this book didn’t make any sense. Every character is referred to them as he/she and their stories sometimes switches form one to another mid chapter, mid page even and it becomes confusing which he/she is the writer referring to now.
Characters are alive then dead without explanation.
The ending is blah like the writer decided to go eat a sandwich and never came back to finish it.

I liked this book a lot. I found Chigurh to be such an interesting character. It was a pretty fast paced book but the lack of punctuation messed with me a little. The writing also lacked a lot of emotion with the dialogue which, to me, lent to Chigurh's mystery but didn't do much for the other characters. I think the movie did a great job of enhancing all the events in the book.

I'm not a writer, but I hear them say "kill your darlings". I don't think you're supposed to enjoy it as much as Mcarthy does.

I loved the movie but not the book so much. Just not my style. The dialogue was mostly bland and hard to follow since he didn't ever use quotation marks, or names all that often. And the narration was very simple. "He stood up and opened the door. He got in his truck. He drove for three hours."
The story worked very well on the screen; I'd recommend the movie way more than the book.
