This was predictable and very slow. Written as YA horror, it read like YA drama with a supernatural element.
I really couldn’t get into the story. It felt repetitive and bland. Dorran felt like he was written as an old Victorian-era man, who should have been 90 years old…but was somehow in his 20’s maybe? Clare is a pushover and unable to fend for herself but by far the better of the two MC’s.
I wouldn’t say this was predictable, but I wasn’t shocked by the surprises written in toward the end (can’t say twists, because they didn’t feel like twists—they just felt like story continuations).
Overall, meh. I wouldn’t go out of my way to pick up further books in this series if they’re similar to this one.

I really enjoyed this book! It had a bit of a slow start because I didn't fully understand what was happening. However, once the book got going it was worth it! I love Darcy Coates!

Whoooft! This was not the horror I expected, it started out well then turned into a cheesy tween (yet unbelievable) romance.
