Who should read it: people that like 90s nostalgia and Cthulhu cult vibes
Book review: It started out great; a really weird scene with old ladies - lots of shock value. I dug the 90s nostalgia. But the story kept throwing weird at you which I would have liked if the pay off at the end was better. It just didn't deliver.
The problem with this could have also been that I had recently read Mister Magic by Kiersten White and I was still chasing that high with this book and it just didn't measure up.

This was a neat story. I liked the different formats sprinkled throughout. The mystery held my interest. The isolated setting of the island was cool. Overall, I liked this book and will be checking out the new one that this author has coming out next week.
