umm i was so convinced that the bf was the serial killer WHAT THE HELL

I’ve read hundreds upon hundreds of thrillers, 56 so far in 2021 alone and I can count on one hand the amount that have actually frightened me. This one is officially on that list! I read this during a 7+ hour road trip and it had me so spooked that when we stopped at a rest stop (late at night) I begged my boyfriend to pee outside the car instead of leaving me alone with the dog to go inside! This book was soo well written and captivating. Loved every second of it and looking forward to reading more from the author! Would give more than 5 stars if I could. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this pre-release in exchange for my honest review!

This book started off strong, with creepy vibes. I was turning each page like, "What's going to happen?"

Then, part 2 happened and it was so predictable and honestly, unrealistic, that I quickly finished and left feeling a little let down.

OMG this book is soooooo MESSED up and I was right there along for the thrilling ride! How have I not read anything by Kiersten Modglin before! A serious mistake on my part that I am so thrilled to have rectified by reading Just Married. Now please excuse me for a minute while I just go and purchase all her other books!….(insert hold music here) Ok, I’m back and now that’s done, on to my review!

We all make compromises in relationships but is out leading lady Grace about to realise there was one compromise she should never have made? An idyllic getaway to a remote cabin in the woods seems like the perfect belated honeymoon destination, but is it perfect? When frightening unexplained things start happening, shouldn’t her husband Ryan be terrified rather than the calm that he appears to be? Is he the one doing these things, or is there something more sinister at play.

Just Married is a creepy and disturbing tale, that I should not have started after it became dark, because I could not put it down! Each little sound in my house made me jump and my nerves were absolutely shot! Told from the perspectives of both Grace and Ryan, each chapter became more terrifying than the last and those twists! Damn, I can see why Modglin has been dubbed as “The Queen of the Twists”. She absolutely nails them!

I could talk about this book for hours, but I will stop here as it has become dangerous territory of me accidentally going to far and revealing that fabulous and jaw dropping ending. You just need to read this book for yourself. Its so chilling and will most definitely be part of my best books for 2021!
