This book was really great! It was so fun to read and it so easy to loose track of time while reading. The special style and formatting with the notes and log entries added to the realism. I think the 3rd person narration was what enhanced the writing style and my expectations were exceeded. I thought it would be similar to One of Us is Lying but it was much better.

One of my favorite murder mysteries I’ve read. Had a traditional twist but I liked how it also leaned into the tropes often found in true crime moreso than murder mysteries. Examples like martyring the white girl, blaming the brown person, police negligence, and communities being ruined. Definitely need to read the other two because I need to know how the loose ends come together.

I don’t normally read crime but after hearing good things I finally decided to give this one a go. My god I was not expecting to be pulled into the story in such a way. I may have to read more crime novels because this one was really good. I loved the way everything progressed and the varying ways the clues are presented. The EPQ framing for the case was something I haven’t really seen before and I actually quite like it.

A cute, enjoyable and wholesome YA murder mystery. Not without its flaws and a bit predictable but it was a fun read.

Even though the main character is a high school senior, she comes across much younger but I liked how she challenged other characters' harmful behavior, e.g., xenophobic comments.

What I don't understand is why the US version is set in Connecticut when you can still tell by the author's word choices that she is British. Why not leave it in the UK?
