Yay! Horror! And a female writer writing horror. It's fabulous!

I was right into this one. There are a few paragraphs, the first being one of them, that gives you just a little bit of information about the island. Not enough to really give you any detail, but enough to make you want to read more. And speaking of detail, I loved the amount in this. There were certain paragraphs that I was really impressed with and I found myself loving the detail that Kristin put into this.

However, it does slow down. After the first paragraph and after I read about the main characters, which have their own issues they certainly didn't need any more crap added in, the story slows. I think a few things could have been taken out, but I understood why Kristin has the info there. It's about more than just being a horror, it's about how the characters react to that horror and to their own lives.

And being that it is horror, there was just enough in this that kept me really wanting to read, but not so much that if you are someone that doesn't enjoy blood and guts, you will not get turned off.

So, all in all I am really glad I reviewed this one and I'm really psyched about picking up more of her work! If you enjoy reading horror for Halloween, you'll like this one! And it's pretty short and mostly fast paced!
