Ever since I first came across the idea in college, I’ve had a low-key obsession with the idea of poems written for two (or more) voices. During one of my student teaching/observation assignments in a local school district I even worked with the teacher to do a lesson where second graders worked with a partner to write a poem for two voices. They are so fun and add another element to poetry.

A great range of poems for two or more voices.

I liked the illustrations and idea a lot, but I found it hard to do with a younger co-"reader." I didn't realize that the other voices would have to be pretty literate - I thought it would be more of a repeat or call and response setup. The "nature's notes" at the end are interesting, if incomplete (which is fine for a book at this level, you just might find yourself googling bigclaw snapping shrimp, which will lead to fascinating results anyway).
