Some random thoughts about this book:

A lot of people have commented on the setting of this book, either referencing the day of Oliver Lane's murder (a steamy day at the beach), or the southern setting Personally, I never got a sense of place from this book. And I know this is nitpicky, but I listened to the audio version, and would like to know why the voice of Picasso was done with a southern accent, but no one else had an accent.

The cover of this book totally made me think that the story took place in the 1950s, which would have been awesome.

While the story revolves around the murder of Oliver Lane, it is no mystery at all who the murderer is.

I did not enjoy the chapters narrated from the wives' point of view, except for the background they gave. I also did not like how I never got a sense of what Diana was like. She was the only wife who had no personality at all, and was only defined by her love for Oliver.

The last little insight we get about Oliver would have been better if it had come earlier in the book and was maybe a subplot, instead of something that was just thrown in at the end. It might have worked better that way.

Overall, a decent beach read, but not very memorable.
