challenging dark reflective tense

This book is some bullshit is what it is. I got angry, I cried, I wanted to throw up. I wanted to rage and I'm still not okay. I haven't been put through the ringer like this in a long time.

This book dives into some pretty serious themes. What it means to be a "good mother" in today's society. What that looks like if you're born without privilege. It explored racial bias, institutionalized recovery, isolation, loss of self. I deserve some compensation after reading this dang book 😅 5 stars!

Had a lot of promise but ultimately fell short. Too repetitive in parts and the writing style was a bit tough. But the topic was good and interesting way of presenting in a dystopian style.

Really wish I had DNF’d this when I first started feeling bored. Concept was interesting and this could have been a great short story but instead it goes on & on while hammering you over the head with the “message”, which just wasn’t that deep.
