So infuriating. I love a dystopian novel but this would never happen.

4/10

Frida gets her child taken away after leaving her baby alone in the house. The government believes that schooling is the right answer here.

Read if you want a book that tries to be exaggeratedly satirical but just... ends up describing the experience of the CPS system for some families.

Had its fun/interesting moments but every chapter could’ve been half the length it was

As if motherhood isn't hard enough, this book shows us a world in which it could be so much harder. It broke my heart.

I wish this could have been a 5 star read, but the ending felt lackluster to me. I feel like this was a great reflection of society today, the patriarchy and racism being included I thought was done very well. The juxtaposition of the different characters and how they mirror eachother was quite impressive. Some pieces of the book feel like they could have been developed more.

DID NOT FINISH

I almost never DNF a book but this kind of dystopia is feeling a bit too real right now.
