Oh boy.... if this was written by anyone else, I’d say there’s too much drama & angst. But because I trust Sierra and love Embry, and because the flashbacks were perfection... 4.5 stars

Ugh so I read book one a long time ago and couldn’t remember why I didn’t finish series. Then I saw the books on audible and decided to give them a listen this week. And book one was chefs kiss, everything I remembered. Then I get to book two and chapter one I’m like tf is this, this is not the embry portrayed in book one.

Also like already the angst was giving me anxiety and I could tell from reviews that this one is SUPER high drama which I wasn’t in the mood for.

Do I think mmf can work? Of course. But it was tough because book one Greer and ash get married and on their wedding night they ask embry to basically be one of them buttt because of the marriage I already saw a power imbalance in the relationship. I also didn’t have an interest to continue on because their communication in book one was horrible in my opinion and I could only see it getting worse.

Almost DNF. The story line is really great with lots of unsuspecting twists and turns but there should be trigger warnings for SA. I skimmed a lot of the book to avoid those parts and I will not be continuing the series for that reason.

I started off enjoying this book less than the first in the series, but as the book continued, it had me intrigued. The storyline was getting more meshed with angst and twists. I was horrified and shocked with Embry’s choice at the end of the book which had me gripped and now of course, I have to start the third in this series. I also need to know and understand more about the King himself and what made him him!

The book was still very spicy, but I’d say potentially less so, than the first.

I can conclude that Sierra Simone knows what she’s doing with words on the page and she does it well! I’m giving this book 3.75 stars.
