The Legacy

3.64 AVERAGE

-Four stories. Four couples. Three years of real Life after graduation…

2.5 stars … this book was so underwhelming and like really unnecessary? love that it tied up loose ends but did they ALL have to get married/engaged in this novella jeez. I feel like the point of these 4 novellas was just to stir up unnecessary drama and problems to make the characters unlikable and then resolve them in the next chapter like … I averaged the stars I gave each novella and came up with 2.5 but I’ll go more in depth about them separately:

The Pact - ⭑ ⭑.5
the whole novella they were trapped in the car … yawn. and then it ended on a cliffhanger like what?? the point of a novella is to end the cliffhanger. also they could’ve called like maybe one other person when they realized they were doomed?

The Proposal - ⭑ ⭑ ⭑.5
maybe it’s only a high rating cuz I love Allie & Dean but omfg why are we getting mad when someone doesn’t want to get married in their early twenties. the logic on both sides is kinda dull but hey it’s okay cuz I love em.

The Honeymoon - ⭑
this story almost put me into a reading slump. I had to drag myself through this and hope it was over soon. the most chaotic story and for no reason?? like it really never got better and they never even really talked out the biggest issue so idk if they’ll last.

The Legacy - ⭑ ⭑ ⭑
everyone out here saying this story ruined Garret’s character and I think that’s a little dramatic. Like yea that was messed up to say but also he was going through it too. Heat of the moment kinda vibe yaknow. While this story was one of the more entertaining ones and I did love how this novella ended on the characters that the series started on it did just seem like a repeat of The Goal so I was like ok yawn.

I hope I don’t dream about Alexander tonight

I almost DNF’d this at the 70% mark because I didn’t care anymore, which is awful because I used to love the characters so much. But because this is the last of the series, I begrudgingly pushed through.

The Legacy comprised of five different novellas featuring each of the couples who we’ve grown to love and what they’ve been up to since they graduated Briar U.

Most of the storylines were random and dragging, they didn’t really add much to the characters and the running joke of the haunted doll was just strange and didn’t match the tone of the overall series. What was even more frustrating was that there was another surprise pregnancy and another miscommunication trope. For a series that started off to be so sex positive dwindled down into a diluted soap opera of its former self.

Off-Campus Series 4 Novella Collection 🏒 💕

•The Pact•
I LOVED Grace and Logan's novella...it made me laugh a lot. I think they may be my favorite couple of the four. I love how honest they are about everything. It just made it so much sweeter.

•The Proposal•
Dean and Allie oh my word, they are made for each other. So many reveals in this novella. I loved how everyone was included and how close they've all gotten. Celebrating Tucker and Sabrina's wedding with 3 year old Jamie was perfect. Dean and Allie's growth separately and together was so fun to see.

•The Honeymoon•
Tucker and Sabrina had me laughing out loud. Their honeymoon was one to remember for sure. But the girls and guys group chats had me rolling. I can't wait until ALL the secrets come out. I love how tight knit they all are. Even from a distance, Sabrina and Tucker felt the love from their friends while also making new friends.

•The Legacy•
Garrett and Hannah are a hilarious pair. I'm so glad they started and finished the part of the series that's their stories with their best friends. A creepy doll turned into two. The friend groups are engaged, married, and having kids. It was the best one to wrap up their part...truly the legacy. I love how Hannah is firm with Garrett about facing his feelings. I adore Garrett for always fighting for his relationship with Hannah. It's sweet. Their friend group makes the stories even better.

Didn't quite reach up to the previous books, but a nice finisher.
