Ooooof this one missed the mark. After the last book I was finally starting to get into the series but this one was such a disappointment. While my OCD tendencies love the fact that each series is 6 books, this one seemed more like a filler than actual plot progression. They wrote it to make it book four. I don’t know, it didn’t seem natural.

My heart was broken for Grey Wing. I feel like I’m the minority on that opinion, but poor guy couldn’t catch a break. Thunder was awful to him, so was his group, and Clear Sky, Jagged Peak. These characters that promised to have so much depth turned into these melodramatic mean girls. If I was him I’d leave to find River Ripple immediately, or Slate and Wind Runner.

It wasn’t my favorite, but the world building was wonderful. And despite my hesitance I have to finish the rest of the series 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was OK I have a feeling the authors are dragging this series out as far as they can. it's frustrating.

Every time I think there will be a Warriors book in this arc with a lower death count, I'm wrong and unprepared to deal with it. I liked the sickness plotline in this and that the cats are finally starting to realize how many clans they have to break off into. I'm also impressed with Clear Sky's redemption path; I absolutely hated him two books ago and yet this whole book I wanted him to get through the fighting alive.

the erins spinning their wheel: okay so dawn of the clans is going to be... [the wheel lands on "boring" and then "heterosexual"]

There may be spoilers in my review for those of you not caught up with this series.

wow...there sure was a lot of action in this one. A lot of cats' personalities changed, and there is a threat that faces all of the cats that was very unexpected. This book ends almost at a cliffhanger, and I absolutely cannot wait until April for the next book. Also, the bonus story at the end was very interesting and ended in a cliffhanger as well. I can't wait to see what happens to the two cats who left the mountains... and I can't wait to see the cats finally divide into the five clans.
