Audiobook- terrible narrator- the horrible MC had this nasal thing going ARGUH !

Hated it, but I finished it anyway
The heroine was a snappish, rude, petty, disgusting woman who keep her son from his father because she was angry. She lies, to her son to his father, to her friends and she never drops one damn issue no matter how old and stale is is. When she wasn't cutting somebody down to nothing she was giggling, yes giggling, this author really like her giggles. I don't think one page went without one. He giggled, she giggled, they all effing giggled !

The sex was enough to make cringe, no sexy tingles here. ICK the descriptions, the words used Eewwww. I just wanted it to stop !

To think that Fallon the most despicable woman character I've read could get this great guy to be so devoted to her no matter how much she abuses him, is sick. I hated her, hated how she treated everyone, hated how it was accepted all through the book, I HATED IT. I don't want to read about such crap people dishing out crap and the Do Goods Eating it up.
Well, that sums it up. I am not going to read any more books form this author.

I really liked this book because it easily incorporated characters from the previous book. I would have liked to read Lucas's reaction to how poorly Fallon's father treated her when she told him she was pregnant. I can't wait to read the next book!

I loved this book as much as I loved the first one. I can't wait to read the next one. Holy cow the chemistry between Fallon and Lucas was hot. Lucas was sweet and understanding. They really seemed made for eachother. Oh Shea and Lucas! I think i might love you two. I love hockey too so that helps. I would however love to get my hands on a paper copy and go crazy with a highlighter editing. Loved the story but sometimes the grammatical and wording error were distracting.

Toni has scored another winner with her book about Fallon and Lucas. Fallon is such a strong character. She deserves her happily ever after. Fallon has become a very strong person, recovering from a broken heart, and still reaching her goals. Lucas has fought his own demons during the time they have been apart. Now he has the strength to fight to get her back, but it won't be easy. The author makes him work for hit.

I will confess that I am addicted to the Assassins and the spin-oof series. I have read Trying to Score more than a few times. I just love the characters. Lucas is strong and determined. He knows what he wants and won't stop until he has Fallon. Score one for second chance romance.

The secondary characters are people that you want to be real and you want to hand out with. Through out the series the reader gets to enjoy unique friendships, witness numerous births and grow old with wonderful people.

I just listened to the audio (3/25/19) and it made me cheer on Lucas all over again. It made me feel even creepier about Levi. I don't know how Lucas put up with him for so long. The voice of Aiden was just so cute. He is AWESOME!!!

Honestly the angst of obsessive characters in this book killed me. Sitting at the same roadblock for the whole book is painful.
Also, hot take: if the guy was so fucked up on booze/drugs that he was blackout and passing out but the roommate was sober then that is sexual assault; not cheating, SEXUAL ASSAULT. I just couldn’t handle how the h never let anything go and the H always forgave everything immediately. Finished the book but it was pretty painful.

I am loving this series, and Toni Aleo!

I think I enjoyed this one a little more than the first one, but they were both great! It would of been a 5 star read, but Fallon started to get on my nerves for awhile. I just wanted to shake her and yell give him a chance! Stop fighting it! And also, I felt like the ending was rushed a bit too much for me. It all seemed to wrap up way too fast. I wanted to see more of them together and happy before it was over, and I didn't hardly get any of that at all. So, I had to dock a star for that.

This book has it all. Family. Sports (hockey). Witty banter. Friendships. And just enough angst. I highly recommend this series as a whole!

2.5/3 ⭐️

Okay I want to preface this with I liked the book mostly but I had some pretty big issues with it so I had a hard time picking a rating.

This book was about 200 pages too long. I was annoyed with both Fallon and Lucas. Fallon bc I just wanted her to let him explain and forgive him already (even tho idk if I personally would have) and Lucas bc come on man she’s obvi not interested! Also when Fallon finds out the truth about what happened she still leaves him?? Pls I cannot deal. And then the ending?? That was also too much for me like jeez Fallon needs to get a grip. Aiden saved this book. He was adorable. I also appreciated the dyslexia representation :)

I also think this book could’ve been edited a little more. There were multiple times I had to go back a few pages and reread bc I didn’t know what they were talking abt. Or like one character would quote another character and I’d be like that first person never said that?? Also there were some sentences with just mistakes. Like they’d have the same word in their twice and it wouldn’t make sense. I just kept getting pulled out of the story.

I’m also just physically and mentally in a very bad place rn where even the smallest annoyance makes me start convulsing and by the end of this book the typos and Fallon’s attitude were annoying me and now I’m lying in bed trying to stop my body from jerking uncontrollably :(

this might just be me being a bitter little scorpio but i can’t stand when a heroine is supposedly angry at the hero but still just talks about how much she wants to fuck him every time she sees him. where’s the rage? where’s the loathing? imagine pretending to hate someone instead of feeling it in every fiber of your being. could never be me.

great book again.

I wished their was more about is alcohol problem. and the twist about the fateful night that set in motion the whole story well a good one.

but she could have cut the angst a bit. the story got boring and repetitive with all the "yes but how can I be sure really?" from her.

there was like 50 or more pages that should have been cut. it would have been more effective
