I really enjoyed this book! There were so many twists and turns, just when you think they have motive, it switches again! Kept me glued to it, didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend!!

I love these characters.

Jeffery Deaver is the master of the plot twist and the misdirect. In this book, Sachs is already investigating a case (which Lincoln Rhyme begins to call the 'Other Case'), when she and Rhyme are called in to investigate a strange case of two apparent murders where large clocks are left at the scene. This unsub is called 'The Watchmaker' and it seems like he might have more victims so the police need to work quickly to catch him. Detective Lon Sellitto had recently been at a conference where an expert on kinesics, Kathryn Dance, spoke. Dance is pulled into this case to interview witnesses to see if she can detect any lies in their statements. Rookie officer Ron Pulaski is working with Sachs on the 'Other Case', as well as on the Watchmaker case. They catch a lucky break when a prospective victim finds a large clock in her work area and rush to interview her and comb the scene. One thing I really like about this series is the crime scene charts which are created by Rhyme and his team as they record the evidence they have found.

We started out good with a possible serial team and a corrupt cop case, but then there were 87 plot twists and Rhyme obviously figured them all out right on time with little explanation and I was done.
